Our goal is to integrate the military family with a community of good people and available resources to meet the ever-changing needs for every member of the armed services and their family. Not everyone has a support system of blood family but the legion family is always ready and waiting to welcome all with open arms!

Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Dont suffer in silence. If you or a family member is struggling, you dont have to be in it alone. There is a whole community dedicated to meeting you, hearing you, and helping you where you are.
The Columbia Project - A Unique Suicide Risk Screening Tool
The Columbia Protocol, also known as the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS), supports suicide risk screening through a series of simple, plain-language questions that anyone can ask. The answers help users identify whether someone is at risk for suicide, determine the severity and immediacy of that risk, and gauge the level of support that the person needs.

BE THE ONE Training
As part of The American Legion Be the One mission to end veteran suicide, we have joined forces with Columbia University to develop training for those who want to learn more about interacting and responding with veterans who may be in crisis.
